Interview With A Vampire (2022)

Mayfair Witches was not good. I don’t think I made it past episode 1.

But all the content coming out from ComicCon about Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire, uh, I mean The Vampire Lestat, which apparently is now the official name for the season, have been gold. Can’t wait.

I have to say that despite how awful the movie was, The Queen of the Damned was my favorite movie from this books series, partly due to Aaliyah and partly due to the music created for Lestat’s band in the film. Still to this day one of my top movie soundtracks. So I’m very interested to see what they do with the music in the show. And I’m so here for Lestat’s rockstar shenanigans!

Really, you liked Queen of the Damned (movie) more than Interview with Vampire (movie)? I’ve never seen Queen of the Damned so I would have to check it out.

We are back!!

I admit I was a bit confused with the beginning of the episode, but Lestat is so fun and aggravating that I know this is going to be a great ride.

Lestat being the egomaniac that he is, would be right LIVID at the book!

I saw Jennifer Ehle is playing Lestat’s Mom? Her performance should be amazing.

Yes I admit the incest is creepy. But this is a fictional show and I shouldn’t be more creeped out by it than the murder and blood of innocent people. But it’s creepy- especially parent child. I think sibling wouldn’t freak me out as much because it wouldn’t seem predatory in this way. Vampires are predators no?

I’m only on episode 2, but I’m not surprised the Talmasca asked Louis to take out Bruce.

The Talmasca don’t ever do anything themselves!

Ooh chile, I was not ready for this episode. Lestat’s not confession/confession about Nicolas, coupled with Daniel basically salivating about the reveal. Then pushing Lestat to share how he was made, just like he tried to push Louis to share about Claudia’s time with Bruce… I was so glad when Daniel realized he didn’t capture it. A prick in life and in death.

Speaking of Bruce…The parallel/overlapping scenes between Louis finally reading Claudia’s diary pages aloud against Lestat’s assault/making…whoooo! Too much! But so well done. Explains so much about Lestat and his interactions with everyone, not just Claudia. Also, Magnus is creepy as fuck.

I did really love all the songs this episode, especially the final one.

I’m sad The Telemasca got cancelled, but I’d love to see the characters show up if we can get the actors back.

Jacob Anderson said in the after show that it was wrong for Louis to read Claudia’s diary, but he wanted to soothe his own guilt for failing her- I agree.
