What's For Lunch?

I did not check it out. I saw the various grilled vegetables they were planning to shove in a wrap and opted to get a roast beef sandwich that day.

Today’s entrée is Chicken Cacciatore with sides of Rice Pilaf and Roasted Vegetables.

Deli special is Curried Chicken Salad on a Croissant (or whatever bread you would like)

Grill special is Grilled Ham, Sauteed Onions, Provolone, Spicy Mustard, which sounds like something I would piece together after coming home from day drinking from things sitting in my refrigerator.

Almost definitely going with the curried chicken salad sandwich today. Might get the roasted vegetables as a side dish if they look good.

I’d get the curried chicken salad. I don’t really care for cacciatore. Not on a croissant though.

Yesterday’s and today’s lunches from the food trucks right outside work.
Brisket sandwich (came with chips)

Thai beef bowl combo

As the seasons will change soon, I’m going to get back into trying new recipes and using my instant pot. I love to use it in the winter months for soups and curries.

I had time to kill Friday before my hair appointment and stopped at this new sit down restaurant in the mall shopping center.

It was only 2:30 pm but I still had a cocktail. It’s 5 pm somewhere, right?

Anyway, the food was delicious.

Random but I really like that plate! It looks textured but its likely not, I like dishes like that.

Given the seasons are changing and it’s almost fall in the USA, I’ve been looking at new things to make. However I fell back into old habits and made my fav Thai red curry from Cookie and Kate. I do like it (I’ve made it for years) but it’s the rare recipe where I have two servings and I’m finished with it for a while. Good my mom likes it and finishes it off for me.

That looks amazing! I am a wimp and cannot tolerate spicy foods, but they are delicious aside from the whole burning mouth feeling.

I am on a new diet for an autoimmune condition - not allowed any soy, corn, gluten, dairy or added sugar (and supposed to minimize use of sugar substitutes). So far all the diet has been good for is weight loss - and I suspect that’s mostly from cutting out added sugar.

So my diet is now consisting of lots of meat, rice, fruits and vegetables. All the healthy things

New diets are hard, but good for you making the commitment, it’s a big shift. I’m very proud of my Mom for not complaining about the dialysis diet- she focuses on what she can have and not what she can’t have.

The plates in the above post that you like are a popular style now. Flat with low ridge and textured/made to look textured. Costco has some, BH&G has a set sold through Walmart (ppptttthhh, sorry reflex, I dislike the store in general and mostly in my town over but love their gv honey cinnamon vanilla creamer (which has annoyingly been sidetracked to make room for pumpkin spice grrrhh) so I go in sometimes to get the creamer and always look at dishes) that is very nice looking. I think you could find a style you like in either a low cost or high cost place to suit you.
