Filming for Season 3 of the Julian Fellows drama began in July.
The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems, and huge fortunes made and lost. From Oscar® and Emmy® winner Julian Fellowes, The Gilded Age follows a young woman who moves in with her old-money aunts and quickly gets entangled in the social war between them and their new-money neighbors. In a world on the brink of the modern age, will she follow the rules of society or forge her own path?

I just talked with my nephew on the phone. He says they are filming for the show right around the corner from where he lives (Troy, NY) and was saying how Boba, his dog, wanted to go play with the horses.

I know the show is coming back in a little over a week, my Mom and I are very excited!
I’ve only watched the first two episodes but my initial thoughts.
-
Is this young Dr MARRIED?!! Will he and Peggy have a romance? He’s very appropriate for her and easy on the eyes.
-
Agnes and the Scotts- we know Agnes isn’t malicious and genuinely cares for Peggy, but she did her a disservice by not contacting her parents first and sending for a physician from the black community in Brooklyn. I know she isn’t so ignorant to think there aren’t any, but she is so comfortable in her authority and privilege she assumed her Dr would put his biases aside because she said so. Peggy wasn’t harmed in the long run (thank goodness) but this is an example of how well meaning intentions and implicit bias have an impact. Think of season 1 with Marion and those old ass shoes.

I feel terribly for Aurora, but she needs to go to Newport and file for the divorce. She will get a settlement and she can start over. If she won’t, he can make her life HELL. He was pleasant enough at first because he does need her to file, but after she refused he started going for the jugular to embarrass her. And the longer he has to wait the meaner he will be. He can have her institutionalized on some fabricated “insanity” if she doesn’t comply. She’s better off with money and ties cut from him, if she has family in another state, go there.

Bertha has over played her hand. George cannot build a railroad AND buy a Duke- that Gladys doesn’t even want!!
Season 4 has been confirmed, I was fully expecting Bertha’s family to turn against her. George knows he cannot blame her for all of it because he did LET her marry Gladys off to the Duke, because it was the emotionally easy thing for him to do. I dont blame Larry for being upset, but George take some responsibility for your choices. I think they will find their way back to each other.
Poor Oscar, his pain was so palpable, John’s death was SHOCKING, I was expecting those two to make it! I think he marrying what’s her name Miss Turner (Now Mrs Enid Winteron) is a good move for both of them. I dont know if she wants children but they might conceive an heir for the sake of it (she’s young enough). I admirt I wasnt a fan of Oscar in season 1, but he has really grown on me. He’s not a bad guy, a bit emotionally weak, but he has a kind heart (look what he did for Maud).
Peggy deserves to be HAPPY with the hot doctor DAMN IT!
