Outlander: Blood of my Blood

“Outlander: Blood of My Blood" is a romantic saga that unfolds across time. From the battlefields of World War I to the rugged Highlands of 18th century Scotland, two fated couples must defy the forces that seek to tear them apart, intersecting in surprising and unforeseen ways.

Premiere August 8, 2025

I saw episode 1 and I really enjoyed it. The casting department has done a fab job because the actor playing Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) has a lower jaw very similar to Sam Heugan.

I like seeing younger versions of the characters, especially Jocasta and Murtugh.

When the Beauchamps car it that stone and they went in the river I gasped. A great bit of camera work there. So I have a theory, the baby Julia is carrying is the grandmother to Fanny and Jane, and she learned the song from Julia. So they have the time traveling gene too.

Edited to add- that the boys playing young Rupert and Angus are the SONS of the original adult actors. How darling and such fun it worked out age wise with the filming schedule.

I’m caught up with the current episodes and I have to say Lord Lovett is such a trashy POS, I can’t believe a sweet man like Brian came from him. Probably he had nothing to do with the boy until he realized he didn’t have any other living kids, and his mother was allowed to nurture and guide him (along with his innate goodness).

Poor poor Julia. I want her and Henry to find each other ASAP, my heart is set on it. Please don’t make us wait most of the season.

I told my Mom I was TIRED of Henry and Julia being separated and I wanted them back together right now!

Brian is a sweetheart and clearly Jamie’s dad. I didn’t know Mrs Fitz was Murtuagh’s aunt!

Henry and Julia are still not together and I’m distressed. Also, Mistress Porter can go kick rocks, is she trying to get Julia killed?!!! If she didn’t say anything about her being pregnant before, keep your mouth shut.

I feel a teeny bit badly for Malcolm Grant as he’s seems pleasant enough and likes Ellen for herself, he’s CLUELESS that she’s got no intentions to marry him. Of course I’m team Ellen and Brian, but Malcolm isn’t a bad or cruel man, he’s rich and young so he can find another wife.

I didn’t realize Jocasta’s first husband was so much older than her….does she conceive her first child at Beltane?!!

Claire has a brother! Brian is clearly Jamie’s Dad. He’s a good boy, ugh we know from the original series that Lord Lovett lives a long life but can he get off my screen?!!

Finally! Henry and Julia know the other one is alive. I am at peace for the rest of the season.

Now to Ellen and Brian.

I think it’s an interesting narrative choice that Malcolm actually likes Ellen and wants to marry her. He’s not a mustache twirling villain and all things considered he will probably make a good husband as far as the standards of the day.

But we know Ellen and Brian end up together and have a family, how does this shake out without a war between the Grants. Malcolm is going to be ANGRY. It would’ve been one thing if she refused his proposal, but after all this pomp and circumstance, for her to run off with a Fraser. Oh my goodness!
We know we are getting a season 2.

That was a ride. I’m sorry Malcolm died, he had every right to be upset but swinging his weapon around intoxicated wasn’t going to end well.

My Mom was VERY upset at the ending, we don’t know if Henry and Julia will be together, cross the stones or WHAT. Likely we will get Season 2 in 2027, as Outlander will finish up in 2026.
